The Toyota Chicago Parts Distribution Center (PDC) is located in Aurora, Illinois, spans 375,000 square feet and was opened in 1992. Through its 8 shipping and 5 receiving doors, it handles approximately 3.2 million outgoing lines and 1.6 million incoming lines annually. The PDC holds a population of approximately 133,000 part numbers: roughly $21.6 million in inventory. The warehouse is equipped with 27 pieces of industrial equipment; (3) Reach Trucks, (2) Counterbalances and (20) Order Pickers.  In addition, the facility is equipped with 37 AMRs (Cobots) that support bin picking and stockkeeping operations.  The outbound operation services 109 Toyota and 44 Lexus dealers, with 22 routes (12 DDS / 10 HUB) covering 11 surrounding states carried out by Lanter Logistics. The warehouse is a 2-shift operation with 63 team members, 9 contingents, 4 Operations Leaders, 2 Production Managers, 1 Senior Manager and 6 additional office support staff for a total headcount of 85. The Chicago PDC is currently piloting a Weekend Ordering Initiative that entails Sunday picking for weekend orders of 43 local dealers with delivery by 7:00 AM Monday. Six team members volunteered to work a Sunday through Thursday shift to support this pilot.
