Kawasa ki’s Parts & Accessories distribution center in Hebron\, Kentucky was laun ched in June 2015. Operated by UPS Supply Chain Solutions (UPS SCS)\, this 220\,000 square foot facility was Kawasaki’s first venture into 3PL opera tions. Although Kawasaki occupies the majority of this 273\,000 square foo t building\, this is a multi-client operation for UPS SCS\, allowing for f lex staffing between accounts in the building\, as well as within their UP S SCS Hebron campus locations.
\n\nHaving merged two of Kawasaki’s aging sel f-owned and operated facilities into one\, the Hebron facility is now the largest of the three distribution centers in Kawasaki’s current network\, housing upwards of 70\,000 SKU’s and servicing all customer types\, part d emand profiles\, and distribution functions\, including dangerous goods st orage and shipping.
\n\nOn average\, the Hebron facility receives and processes 950 i nbound lines and ships 4\,400 outbound lines per day. This translates to r oughly 700 individual orders being shipped globally to customers daily. Al though expedited or air shipping is processed at this facility\, most dail y orders are shipped ground via UPS small package or less than Truckload ( LTL).
\n\nT he Operation deploys two shifts for Inbound and Outbound with staggered st art times and runs from 06:00 to 21:00 weekdays. It employs roughly 60 hou rly associates plus 5 management and specialists.
