Getting the right part to the right place at the right time requires more than inventory in the network—it requires clear demand signals, coordinated planning, and thoughtful tradeoffs across parts and service operations. This session will explore how OEMs are working to improve availability at the point of need, with a focus on what it takes to identify demand early, position inventory effectively, and respond quickly when requirements emerge. The discussion may touch on a range of enablers, including service planning, dealer-to-dealer fulfillment, demand signals from connected equipment, and other tools or practices that help companies anticipate and respond to need. Rather than centering the conversation on “uptime” itself, the session will focus on the underlying supply chain and service capabilities that make timely availability possible. A key theme will be tradeoffs: where inventory should sit, how speed should be balanced against cost, and how companies measure success in getting parts where they are needed, when they are needed.
