Description

Kawasaki’s Parts & Accessories distribution center in Hebron, Kentucky was launched in June 2015. Operated by UPS Supply Chain Solutions (UPS SCS), this 220,000 square foot facility was Kawasaki’s first venture into 3PL operations. Although Kawasaki occupies the majority of this 273,000 square foot building, this is a multi-client operation for UPS SCS, allowing for flex staffing between accounts in the building, as well as within their UPS SCS Hebron campus locations.

Having merged two of Kawasaki’s aging self-owned and operated facilities into one, the Hebron facility is now the largest of the three distribution centers in Kawasaki’s current network, housing upwards of 70,000 SKU’s and servicing all customer types, part demand profiles, and distribution functions, including dangerous goods storage and shipping.

On average, the Hebron facility receives and processes 950 inbound lines and ships 4,400 outbound lines per day. This translates to roughly 700 individual orders being shipped globally to customers daily. Although expedited or air shipping is processed at this facility, most daily orders are shipped ground via UPS small package or less than Truckload (LTL).

The Operation deploys two shifts for Inbound and Outbound with staggered start times and runs from 06:00 to 21:00 weekdays. It employs roughly 60 hourly associates plus 5 management and specialists.
